Bikeability Level 1 in Schools

For children in Year 3 or 4  (Age 7, 8 & 9)

The Plymouth School Sports Partnership work with their consortium partners, Execel at Cycling Ltd and The Cycling Partnership, to deliver Bikeability in Plymouth and Devon (excluding Torbay).

Level 1 is for children who are able to ride a bike without stabilisers.

At Level 1, new riders learn to control and master their bikes in a space away from traffic such as a playground or closed car park.

Children will usually be trained in a group of up to 12 per instructor.

At Level 1, children will be able to:

  • Prepare themselves and their bike for cycling
  • Get on and off their bike without help
  • Start off, pedal and stop with control
  • Pedal along, use gears and avoid objects
  • Look all around and behind, and control their bike
  • Share space with pedestrians and other cyclists

How to book Level 1 Bikeability for your School...
